Can I ship food?

Can I ship food?

You can send store-bought food if its shelf life is longer than 6 months from the date of shipping. If you are shipping internationally, there are extra rules that limit what you can send.

What foods can I ship?

  1. Foods must be in the original manufacturer's packaging.

  2. Food packaging must be sealed and not tampered with in any way.

  3. Food label must list all ingredients.

How do I ship food?

  1. Don’t send food items that must be kept in a temperature controlled environment in transit (refrigerated, frozen or chilled) as they will spoil by the time they reach their destination.

  2. Always package your food items so that they can withstand the parcel being placed upside down during transit, and always wrap individual items separately inside your parcel for optimum protection.

  3. Always check the import restrictions in the country you are shipping to, to avoid sending foods that are prohibited at the destination. Some countries may require additional paperwork. Check our country pages for more.

Note: Foods classed as perishable items, such as fresh foods, home cooked and home baked foods, are prohibited for transport via courier as they can go off and spoil in transit.

If you have already booked a collection for items that may be considered perishable, the driver or depot may refuse the shipment once identified. We recommend cancelling your booking and using an alternative service designed for perishable goods.
